The four day long Mahotsava has concluded on a high point. A mega blood donation camp was organised in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh and Sukh Foundation, as part of the 173rd Birth Anniversary celebration of the founder of Dev Samaj ‘Bhagwan Dev Atma’ at Dev Samaj Head Office, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh. Hundred (100) units of blood were collected at the blood donation camp, in which volunteers from Dev Samaj institutions and the general public actively participated.
Another highlight of the Mahotsava was a reflective discourse by Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon Ji Secretary, Dev Samaj, who spoke on the subject of ‘Dev Jeewandhari Bhagwan Dev Atma’. The enlightening lecture emphasized on the teachings of Bhagwan Dev Atma and the necessity of imbibing scientific temper to understand and connect with the philosophy of the revered soul.
Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon in his discourse said that Dev Samaj’s founder overcame pain and hurdles with a smile to spread the message of love, truth and honesty. He added that we must imbibe these qualities in our lives to lead a meaningful existence. He further said that we must ensure to pass these qualities to the coming generation to ensure betterment of society.
The different discourses held during the ‘Mahotsava’ made the audience aware of the importance of imbibing social ethics and moral culture. A pertinent session was that of Member, Dev Samaj Managing Council and Secretary, Managing Committees of Dev Samaj Colleges, Chandigarh, Dr. Agnese Dhillon. Then the discourse by Dr. Manoj Madan in which he spoke about the need for humans to nurture relationships in all the four orders of existence – Humans, Animal world, Plant world and even the inanimate world of stones, air, light and water also enlightened the audience. The discourse by Shriman Ram Vilas ji Pandey on ‘Maanvata ko Bhagwan Dev Atma ki Aavshaykta’ focused on the importance of the relationship we have with our body and soul. Other discourses too shed light on different facets of life and how it should be led.
A quiz competition was also organised for Dev Samaj schools’ students which was based on the life and philosophy of Bhagwan Dev Atma. What’s more, a play was staged by the students of Dev Samaj Modern School, New Delhi based on the theme of human relations and how to create harmony in them and also its importance in our day to day life.
The Mahotsava’s concluding day, witnessed bhajans, prayers and a pledge to follow the ideals and principles laid down by Bhagwan Dev Atma to ensure a better world.
